Online Workshop – Generative Art

Event Time: SAT 21 & SUN 28 NOV, 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM both days

Presented as part of the International Limestone Coast Video Art Festival 2020.

Under the guidance of WA based artist & filmmaker Vladimir Todorovic, participants will work with 3D Animation/modeling/gaming software ‘Blender’ to create systems which can automatically generate images and animated sequences.

The workshop will cover the basics of modeling, texturing, rendering and working with generative systems.

After the workshop, participants will be able to create their own animations, models, and use them in their creative practices.

Participants will need to download the ‘Blender’ software (version 2.83) on their computer prior to the workshop (available for free at blender.org/download/lts).

VLADIMIR TODOROVIC
Dr Vladimir Todorovic is a filmmaker, artist and educator at the University of Western Australia’s School of Design. He works with new technologies for immersive and generative storytelling. His current projects include generative 3D animation, a feature length film to be shot in Orkney (Scotland), an experimental film to be shot in Western Australia, an interactive VR experience, and a project on AI and art.
